Our Community Choir welcomes anyone who wants to sing. No auditions, no need to be able to read music and everyone is welcome.

VENUE
Over the summer and for the foreseeable future due to Covid-19 our sessions will all be held online on Zoom.
We are investigating ways to be able to safely meet again and will update you as soon as we know more.
Amongst all the tragedies and trials, great and small, of recent months, losing our singing seemed one more blow. Thank goodness for modern technology! Almost from the start of lockdown, we have had one evening a week when we can sing our hearts out in the company of our fellow choir members.
Every Wednesday night we forget our worries for an hour and a half, as our musical director Willow Songsmith, with indispensable support from Rowan, conducts an online singing session. The wonders of modern technology mean that we can see our fellow choir members and there's still time for a chat between singing some old favourites and learning some new songs.
We have already started discussing how we may safely meet again but, thanks to the hard work of our director, we can continue to enjoy our uplifting and rewarding online sessions.

Each session lasts an hour and a half. A ten minute warm-up is followed by learning new songs and practicing old favourites. We sing a whole range of songs from all over the world: folk, doo-wop, gospel, pop and blue-grass. Most are in English but we do try songs in other languages and we had a fantastic response when we sang in French to some French visitors! Whatever we sing, they all have one thing in common, a feel-good factor.
